The Celestine Chapel is my online sanctuary,
a place where vision and lived experience meet
in an ongoing exploration of consciousness.
Am I part of the Church?
No – not in that sense.
Do I love the beautiful little churches scattered across villages and hamlets throughout Europe?
Very much so. Especially those I’ve visited in the south of France.
In the churches of the Cathar region, the feminine quality -so often diminished or forgotten in Western religious traditions- still feels present and alive. It shows in the delicacy and beauty of the interior artwork. I have a particular fondness for the small church shown in the photo.
I’m also drawn to the stories these places carry, the long arc of human development and the role religion has played along the way. From where I stand, the development of consciousness moves freely through and beyond such forms. Not bound to institutions, but open, evolving, and very much alive.
Do I believe in God?
Belief is certainly something associated with the Church.
Yet I don’t relate to the image of God as an all-seeing man high above the clouds; long beard, raised finger, judging between good and evil. To me, that image feels shaped by an earlier stage of human consciousness, one that relied on fear, power, and control.
If I were to speak of God, I would describe it as the Source of all life, an all-embracing consciousness, often experienced as unconditional love, as the breath of life itself. A presence that can become almost tangible when you enter a sacred space, or when you meet someone who truly embodies this quality.

A chapel is more than a small church
In the Great Van Dale Dictionary, I discover that a chapel can refer to a day-flying butterfly, a brass band or harmony orchestra, a skylight, a temple, or a small niche or cabinet in or against a wall, something many people today recognise as a little altar.
For me, a chapel is a gentle place of power. A space where deep stillness can be experienced, and where the Source of all life becomes almost tangible. This might be a place in nature, a megalithic stone circle, or a small and quiet church.
Our own De Werfeling is such a place for me as well — hidden within the Earth, created from the intention to bring the magic of unconditional love into the world, right in the heart of Utrecht.
This naturally finds its way into my work.
I wish you much enjoyment in reading and listening.

Freddie Mercury Reborn
14 juni 2024
Yesterday, toward the end of the afternoon, an Indian family entered De Werfeling.
They stood together for a moment, quietly deliberating whether all four of them would have a card reading, or perhaps not. The mother clearly took the lead. She smiled and said, “That sounds nice,” and so it happened.
They gathered around the table. With a glass of water and a cup of coffee, we began. Mother first.
Afterwards, her youngest son sat down in front of me. Like his mother and the rest of the family, he carried a question of choice. He had applied to the conservatory, hoping to become a singer. When he didn’t pass the initial selection, he chose a different path within the entertainment industry.
His question was simple and honest:
Is this new direction aligned with who I am, or should I try again and apply to the conservatory once more?
The first card was Go with the Flow, suggesting that, for now, his choice was to gently move along with the current already in motion. Which, of course, touched the very heart of his question: am I truly on my own flow?
The second card was Change. In September, he would begin his new training, a significant transition after finishing secondary school.
The third card was Celebration: dancing women in the rain. I told him that there is more than one road to Rome, and that despite the rejection from the conservatory (the rain)he could still choose to dance, if he wished.
As we spoke, his expressive face had already caught my attention. Given the tone of the cards, I looked at him again, with a hint of surprise, and said:
“Are you aware that you strongly resemble Freddie Mercury?”
Not the real Freddie, but the actor who played him in the film about Queen, with one difference: you have a beautiful set of teeth.
The whole family burst into warm laughter. No one had ever mentioned it before.
I asked him if he knew the story of Queen, if he was familiar with their music. Of course he was. His mother added,
“Bohemian Rhapsody was the very first song he ever sang.”
“Well,” I said, “then you also know that the conservatory is not the only path to success.”
The next card was Past Life. At first, it didn’t immediately resonate for me. I suggested,
“Perhaps you were a singer in a past life?”
He nodded, thoughtfully.
But the card also speaks of recurring patterns, themes that return again and again, inviting awareness.
We spoke about this for a while. And only later did it occur to me that Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991.
Perhaps he had briefly appeared that afternoon, in a new form, just for me.
The final card was Clinging to the Past.
Do I really need to say more?
Moments like these continue to remind me how creative force moves, sometimes quietly, sometimes unexpectedly, always inviting us to meet what appears.
The Sculptor
24 juni 2024
On the sun-filled Sunday afternoon we enjoyed yesterday, a lovely couple from the eastern part of the country entered De Werfeling. After browsing through the shop and visiting the stone circle, they took a seat at the tarot table for a card reading, the man went second.
For twenty-nine years, he has worked for a company specialised in crafting gravestones. Through skilled handwork, he chisels names and words into stone.
His question concerned the next step in his working life. He feels a deep desire to guide people through grief by creating a sculptural work together with them. The first seeds along this path are already beginning to bear fruit, yet he wondered whether there was anything else that could support this unfolding.
The card reading was striking. It showed that he has entered a new cycle, that his ideas are fertile, and that the foundation is sound. There is, however, still work to be done. This is not a time to lean back lazily in the shade of a parasol with a piña colada and pink slippers.
What is needed now is patience and the courage to continue moving steadily forward, even while resistance and uncertainty make themselves felt.
Patience in the place of unconscious influence.
I see this often with people who step onto a new path. Fueled by desire and enthusiasm, there can be an expectation that ideas will take flight and succeed in one swift movement. Occasionally, this happens. More often, what wants to manifest needs time to settle into the ground or there are still elements that ask to be seen.
Doubt then begins to creep in.
Does this really work?
Am I doing it right?
Is there a place for this?
Attention shifts elsewhere, in search of something that promises quicker success.
Here, three quiet keys present themselves.
The first: stay with it. Remain focused on what you truly want to create and bring into form, so that the fruits of your work may ripen in their own time.
The second: along the way, take moments to notice underlying assumptions, subtle ideas that may be working against the very thing you wish to bring into being.
The third: where there is desire, resistance is never far away. They arise together. And so… patience.
And the work continues. Quietly. Steadily.
Asking not for haste, but for trust in what is already taking shape.

Caring for Your Spacesuit – Your Earth Body
25 januari 2026
For a long time, the human self -including the physical body- has been understood as being in service of the soul, as if spirit leads and human embodiment simply follows. From this perspective, it is often said that inner well-being naturally results in physical health.
I hold a more nuanced view. While the soul remains the guiding essence of who we are, the time we are living in calls for a far more refined cooperation between soul and human embodiment. Especially as we move into a heart-centred way of being, vitality arises not from hierarchy, but from harmony – from an attentive, ongoing dialogue between inner awareness and the body that carries it.
They influence one another deeply. Care for the inner life alone does not create wholeness when the body is left out of the conversation. And caring only for the body, while neglecting emotional and inner development, leaves us with little more than a well-maintained outer form. True vitality emerges when soul and human expression are honoured together, as equal partners in lived experience.
For this reason, you will find below nourishment and guidance straight from Heaven 😉 I share only recipes and suggestions that I have tested myself, in service of a vital and healthy body. I am no saint, but I have been engaged with food and health from a very young age. Gently take from it whatever feels supportive to you.
Vegetable & Fruit Juices
What has become immensely supportive for me are fresh vegetable and fruit juices.
All you need is a slow juicer. I personally recommend Hurom, a German brand. If you are able to invest, go for the larger model (around €630). It is truly worth the money.
Celery Juice
Pure celery juice made from two full bunches of celery, run through a slow juicer, provides a powerful boost of energy and supports deep cleansing of the liver. Truly the healing power of celery juice is beyond words. When interested on more background information on celery juice, you may enjoy the book Medical Medium by Anthony William or for that matter any of his other life- changing books.
Celery juice is best taken in the morning, on an empty stomach, as this is when its cleansing and energising qualities can work most effectively. After drinking, allow at least 15 to 30 minutes before consuming anything else.
Many people notice quite quickly that celery juice offers as much energy as coffee — without the stimulating side effects.
You will need:
-
2 full bunches of celery – choose light-coloured stalks if possible
If you are still getting used to the taste, or if the celery is darker in colour, you may begin with:
-
1 bunch of celery
-
1 cucumber
-
1 apple
Cut everything into relatively small pieces and run it through the juicer.
Pour the juice through a fine tea strainer into a glass.
Carrot Juice
Later in the day, you may wish to add this carrot juice, prepared in the same way using a slow juicer. As with all fresh juices, it is supportive to allow at least 30 minutes to an hour before and after drinking before consuming anything else. This gives the body space to fully absorb the nutrients.
Clean all vegetables thoroughly – by peeling, washing, or whatever feels best to you.
You will need:
-
1 kg fresh, vibrant-looking carrots
-
1 apple
-
1 orange (either freshly squeezed or peeled and juiced whole)
-
A 4 cm piece of fresh ginger root
Peel everything (the apple does not need to be peeled), cut into pieces, juice, and strain through a tea strainer.
Truly delicious.
An Extra Energiser
This juice can be enjoyed at any moment when you feel the need for grounding energy and gentle vitality. As with other juices, allow space before and after drinking for optimal absorption.
You will need:
-
½ bell pepper
-
¾ carrot
-
1 medium-sized sweet potato (about the same amount as the bell pepper)
-
A 2 cm slice of fresh pineapple
Peel everything, cut into pieces, juice, and strain through a tea strainer.
Delightful Beetroot and Ginger
Beetroot juice supports your blood vessels because it is rich in natural nitrates, which are converted in the body into nitric oxide, helping the blood vessels relax and widen. This can improve circulation, lower blood pressure, and reduce strain on the heart. In addition, beetroot juice supports overall health through its antioxidants, detoxifying properties, and its positive effects on energy and endurance.
You will need:
- 2 medium raw beets
- 2 large apples
- 1-2 large carrots
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger root
- 1/2 lemon (peeled)
- Optional: 1 stalk of celery or a small handful of fresh mint for freshness.
Clean all veggies and peel the ginger and put through your juicer, drink it best right away. Bloodpresure levels will drop within an hour or so and will last up to 24 hours.
May what you take in here support your body in remembering its own wisdom, and may nourishment become a quiet act of attunement between soul and human form.
